Easy Activities
Walk to work. Vacuum the carpet. Do a spot of gardening. That’s enough to get you more active. You see – it’s easier than you thought.
Getting more active isn’t about running a marathon or turning into someone you’re not. It is about adding enough activity into your daily routine so that you feel the benefits. It doesn’t have to be too serious either, being active should be fun. That is why it is really important to find activities that you enjoy doing and want to keep up.
Getting started can seem a bit daunting but you’ll be surprised at how many easy activities there are to get you started. And the great thing to know is that you are not alone – the whole country is getting active too with you. Aim to try and do half an hours activity, most days of the week if you can.
Here are some easy activities to get you started:
- Gardening
- Vacuuming or doing the house work
- Walking to the shops
- Walking upstairs rather than taking the lift
- Dancing around the house to some music you love
- Taking a walk around your local park
- Going dancing with some friends
